Town of Montville
The Town of Montville is currently accepting applications for Zoning/Wetlands Officer
Full-time position – days. Includes benefits. $23.56/hour----Step 1.
Responsibilities include but not limited to reviewing all relevant land use applications for compliance with Zoning, Wetlands, Flood Hazard area requirements, Coastal Area Management and Erosion and Sediment Control Plans. The Zoning/Wetlands Officer performs highly responsible, professional and administrative work in the land use field. Mandatory attendance at various town meetings occurring during the evening hours. Experience and training requirements are: Associates Degree from an accredited school or university.
Two years’ experience as a Wetlands and/or Zoning Officer OR the ability to obtain CAZEO and Certified Wetlands Agent status within the course time and periods. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of Ansonia's Building Department. Executes and administers the City's anti-blight and zoning enforcement programs. Coordinates the processing of all building, zoning and land-use related applications. Manages and/or coordinates activity of all employees and officials working within the Building Department. Acts as the official representative of the Building Department to the Mayor and Ansonia’s various boards and commissions. Works with City's land-use boards and commissions. Strives to foster a courteous and customer friendly environment in the Building Department.

Reviews compliance and performs enforcement with development activities and approvals established by the Planning, Zoning, Zoning Board of Appeals and the Conservation /Inland Wetlands Commissions and monitors and enforces the Simsbury Blight Ordinance.
