 Land Use Officer--City of Waterbury,CT
SALARY: $57,537.41~ $76,575.41 PER YR, 35 hrs/wk paid bi-wkly (NOTE: New hires start at the beginning of the range)

EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Illustrative only)
Coordinates activities and provides technical assistance for the land use boards and commissions; Enforces the Zoning and Inland Wetlands Regulations; Maintains all records related to Zoning and Inland Wetlands Regulations Enforcement; Preparation of amendments to the zoning, Inland Wetlands and subdivision regulations; Appears in court pursuant to zoning enforcement actions; Works with members of the public regarding zoning, Inland Wetlands, code enforcement, and subdivision inquiries; Evaluates development proposals submitted to the City; Conducts site surveys and formulate site design alternatives within the regulations of the City of Waterbury; Prepares staff reports for Boards and Commissions; Prepares Planning Studies; Performs related work as required.
Solid understanding of the principles and practices of land use, planning, and zoning processes; Familiarity with the Connecticut General Statutes regarding Planning, Zoning and Inland Wetlands; Ability to interpret development plans and zoning regulations; Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; Ability to exercise tact and courtesy in dealing with the public.   

Zoning and Wetlands Officer-- Town of Montville,CT

Full-time position - Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.  Includes Benefits.  Starting Salary $24.75/hour at Step 1.  Position performs highly responsible professional and administrative work in the land use field.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  reviewing all zoning and wetland permit applications for compliance with the Regulations; performing pre, during, and post construction site inspections, preparing oral and written reports, preparing agenda items and other monthly activity reports as well as attending all Zoning Board of Appeals and Inland Wetland Commission and Planning and Zoning meetings as required; Enforcing Zoning and Wetlands Regulations as required (per policies, laws, codes, ordinances, rules & regs); assists the general public by providing information on land use and development.  Minimum requirements include:  Associates degree from an accredited school or university.  Two year's experience as a Wetlands and/or Zoning Official or ability to obtain CAZEO and Certified Wetlands Agent status within the course time and periods.  Must possess and retain a valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle License. Zoning Enforcement Officer  Town of Westbrook, CT

Union position – salary range $50,000 - $60,000

The Town of Westbrook Connecticut is seeking a hands-on experienced and self-motivated Zoning Enforcement Officer (ZEO) professional reporting to the Zoning Commission.  The ZEO performs inspections, investigative and administrative duties to assure that residential, commercial and other properties comply with the Zoning, Aquifer Protection and Coastal or Tidelands Wetlands Regulations of the Town and with related state statutes.

Enforce and assist with the compliance of Town Zoning, Inland Wetlands and Watercourses, Planning, Historic District and subdivision regulations.  Works under direct supervision of the Town Planner and receives direction and requests from the Land Use boards and commissions.

High School degree and three to four years related experience including at least one year of zoning enforcement or inland wetlands enforcement. College degree in related field may be substituted for two years of experience.  CAZEO and DEEP Inland Wetlands certification preferred.

This is a full-time 35 hour per week, non-union position. Pay rate commensurate with experience.  Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
